The first traces of settlement date back to prehistoric times. But the village was actually built in the Middle Ages. This late 12th century castle was the summer residence of the bishops of the diocese of Lodève. This part of the Hérault was marked by the presence of the Templars.

This castle was built at the end of the 12th century. It has a rectangular plan with three levels and 2 imposing towers on the north façade. On the south façade, the family coat of arms has been sealed in, along with loopholes and machicolations.
This 12th century castle steeped in history spans approx. 470 m2 in a dominant position and comprises: a courtyard of honour, several reception rooms with French ceilings, a study with vaulted ceilings, a kitchen, 8 bedrooms and 8 shower rooms. 2 terraces with panoramic views.
